I was cleaning up some old footage from my Flipcam the other day when I came across a few clips I caught of the City.  With the Hot Docs film fest coming to town, I felt a bit “Spike-Leeish”  and decided to put together a short vid of my own…enjoy!

When you’re ready to call Toronto home…call me!

The Streetcars on the move again…Streetcar Developments that is! A few posts back, I shared some details about the lofts and in the coming week I’ll have even more! Floor plans, prices and of course renderings should all be coming shortly. As they’ve done with past projects, Realtors who sold for them will have one of the first opportunities to sell to their clients before the general launch. According to their latest mail out “TRINITY will offer the unique high-end designer finishes that past Streetcar followers have come to appreciate: 9′ smooth ceilings, modern kitchens and bathrooms with stone counters throughout, stainless steel appliances and pre-engineered wood flooring.”

Stay tuned for more updates during the week…feel free to contact me if you’d like to be part of the launch!

I’ve been spending a lot of my time on the East side of town lately, showing and selling at the various condo sites and hanging out in its eclectic coffee shops. The other day I was in the area gathering info on Trinity Lofts, when I passed the newly opened Mini Downtown…being a Mini Cooper driver/enthusiast/owner myself I just had to stop by!

The new looking dealership is MUCH different than the old! I first fell in love with my Cooper when I saw it sitting in the “loft-like” showroom at its King West location. The space had exposed brick, wood beams, and high ceilings. Shortly after I picked up the car, the dealership moved out of its place and headed east…Located in front of BMW Downtown (the tall glass building that can be seen from the DVP) the new place is an excellent evolution of design and space compared to its old digs.

Designed by Toronto based Raw Design (the geniuses’ in design behind the Cube Lofts on College St), it’s new look has replaced wooden beams with black steel ones and substituted hardwood floors with rectangular slate-like tiles. Perched above the showroom floor is the mezzanine that allows customers to watch their car being serviced as they hang out in the “lounge” atmosphere! The showroom is mainly black, but lightens up with the colourful Coopers that line the floor. Playful greens, oranges and other neon lights accent the space and help to put you in a “mini cooper” state of mind!

Check out some photos below. The East side of town is proving to be an excellent area, with tons of potential…I think we’ll be seeing more business follow Mini by heading east! If you to have thought about making the move  send me an email or give me a call… I’d love to help!

PS… if you’re looking to get into a Mini, talk to Sam Barbaro!  He did an awesome job getting me into mine and I’m sure he can do the same for you!!

A few months ago, I wrote about SYNC lofts by Streetcar Developments and experienced the same results as my 2 Gladstone post…tooooons of interest! In my opinion, Streetcar seems always be one step ahead of others in the mid-rise development business.

With 2 Gladstone they launched a soft loft that’s designed to work with the area instead of over power it. Its design and awesome location (Queen West at Gladstone) helped launch 2 Gladstone with strong sales. For SYNC it was the incorporation of high-tech gadgets that attracted many purchasers.

I was excited earlier in the month when rumours started circulating about a 3rd project (in the past year) launching from them… and even happier today to see it confirmed! Trinity Lofts is the newest project by Streetcar, with a location right in the thick of a few interesting up and coming areas. Located on the North West corner of Trinity and Eastern Avenue, the lofts will border the Distillery District, Downtown East and the West Don Lands!

Very few details are known at this time, but I’ve heard roughly 80 units will be available, spread over 8 floors. From my experience, more and more buyers are expressing interest in the intimate design of a low rise building as opposed to many of the tall towers popping up. It’s this kind of design that Streetcar excels so well in! I haven’t seen any renderings yet, but I’m very curious to see how the lofts merge with the century old architecture that can be found on neighbouring streets.

I’ll be keeping an eye on Trinity Lofts with blog posts as soon as more official info is known! If you’d like to be kept in the loop for the Trinity project, send me an email or give me a call… I’d love to help!

The wait is over!  Plans for Number One Bloor have finally been made public, and I’ve been getting a ton of interest on the development.  I won’t be spending too much time writing about it on SavelBlogs.com but head on over to BloorCondos.com for all the latest on Number One Bloor and other projects in the Bloor and Yonge area.

River City has recently released its newest selection of units…The Penthouse Collection! The units come in a variety of sizes, views and options. For some layouts purchasers can completely customize their space!

The collection is organized into 3 categories: Penthouse level/16th floor of King St. Building, Terrace level/9th floor of King St. Building and Penthouse level/6th floor of River St. Building. The terrace units are quite impressive with massive outdoor spaces perfect for those who enjoy outdoor entertaining. The River St. building also has a variety of options including a few 2 story units with 400+ square foot terraces!

The other addition to the River City project is the completion of the Saucier + Perrotte designed model Kitchen and Bathroom in their sales centre! The Saucier + Perrotte team are the winners of 5 Govener General Medals in Architecture and were awarded “Best Firm In Canada” by the Royal Architerctural Institute of Canada in 2009! Plans in the kitchen are calling for an open concept style with stone countertops and brand-name Energy Star stainless-steel appliances to name a few. Pictures say more than words so see for yourself (below) how the model kitchen will look!

For the past 2 months, I along with 32 other Toronto Business Volunteers have been working to donate a part of our earnings to the people of Haiti.  The plan was to form a group of Toronto small business owners who would donate their time and profits to raise funds for the country after its earthquake.  My commitment was to donate $1 for every $1000 I sell in Real Estate to one of the four charities we’re supporting.

In true Toronto style, we’ll be putting together a cool event that I encourage everyone to come out for.  It’ll be held at a funky cafe in Queen West called Quaff (668 Queen Street West) on March 12th from 5-9.  We’ll have 30 artworks on display from local Toronto talent as well as 20 local businesses auctioning off their services with proceeds going towards the Haitian rebuilding effort.  I’ve seen the line-up of work available…and believe me when I say there’s something in it for everyone!

There will be: an AutoShare Family Membership + $100 in driving – $350 value, a $600 Web design (1 website) + social media marketing consulting (3 hours), a Style Consultation service and even an In-home pole dance party package to name a few.  Check out the full list of “business packages” on the Toronto Works For Haiti Blog!!

For a preview of the night’s artwork, check out it’s Flickr Slideshow… Please invite your family, friends, and your neighbours. We hope to see you there, It’s going to be a great night of arts and entertainment!!

Special thanks to AGO, Autoshare, DeSerres, GPHT, Quaff Cafe, Rightsleeve.com
