Yipppppeee, we’re two for two! Last week I videoblogged about Pier 27 starting construction, and now it looks like Market Wharf is breaking ground as well:

I’m growing a reaaaaaaly big Moustache for MOVEMBER. I need your support and donation to raise funds for the charity and create awareness! I’ll be posting a new photo everyday in November of my “Savel-Stache” so check back daily for it’s status. Please tell your friends and let’s raise some money for a worthwhile cause!!!

The time has come my cell-phone-using-while-car-driving-friends! It is now illegal to to tweet, text, email, call or do anything else that requires holding a phone (and other devices) while driving! You can still use your cell phone, but it’ll have to be hands free.
There will be a grace period until February 2010 before fines are issued…but for the sake of me and my new (with bluetooth) car JUST DON’T DO IT. I for one, used to laugh at those who considered talking while driving dangerous (sorry mom and dad). After a few near “fender benders” myself, I’ve definitely changed my opinion! Check out the Q and A I posted back in August on what you CAN and CAN’T do now that the law is in effect!
Call me …I’m legally prepared to answer ;)

Saturday October 24th and 25th 2009 marks the grand opening of Tridel’s newest downtown condo known simply as: Rêve.
Located in King West Village, Rêve will be a 14 story condo stretching from 560 Front St to the south and all the way to Niagara St in the north. Red metal cladding will be the focal point on both ends of the building. Wallman Architects and Burka Architects Inc. have collaborated on the bold glass and steel exterior. The interior will be designed be award winning designer Alex Chapman. The definitive lines and red cladding help to set this building apart from other buildings in the area. Check out the photos below to see for yourself!

Fashion and Real Estate share a lot of similarities…be it the curves, the lines, the trends or the style! What better place for the two to meet than at the future home of DNA3 (by Canderel Stoneridge).
LG Fashion Week by L’Oréal Paris is annual event held in Toronto. In it’s 11th year the festival brings together media, industry, buyers and consumers to view the season’s collections in the Fashion Capital of Canada! Aside from gorgeous models and luxurious fabrics…what really catches my eye is the venue. From October 19th to the 24th 2009 The Fashion Design Council of Canada will be using the old car dealership at King and Shaw as ‘Fashion Week Headquarters’. They’ve been bringing some big changes to the corner in recent weeks and today the final product is revealed.
Now here’s where the Real Estate ties in to it all. The site is also the future home of DNA3. Launching in Spring 2010, the third DNA condo will be released and judging by the rendering it’s going to ‘gorgeous, dawling… just gorgeous.’

They’re along way from launching, but if you’d like to be kept in the loop, send me an email…i’d love to help! Just don’t go buying any Karl Lagerfeld bags like the one pictured above…it’ll set you back about $2000!! Save the money for closing costs ;)

Though a lot of my business is done in Toronto’s downtown condos, many of my sellers eventually make the move into a house. A common issue in some of Toronto’s older neighbourhoods is the use of Asbestos in the home. The Mesothelioma Centre sent me a great article explaining asbestos and what do to if it’s found in your home:
While many homeowners may think that building green can take a toll on the wallet, the benefits outweigh any initial monetary losses. Building or remodeling your homes with eco-friendly materials can lower utility and water bills, higher real estate value, purer air quality, reduced waste sent to landfills and conservation of natural resources.
When embarking on the path to purchasing a home, there are many things to consider. Although it is one of the more exciting times in your life, additional responsibilities may arise. Many old homes may need repairs or renovations and may still contain obsolete building materials.
