TYLT Wall Charger

From new cities to old beaches wherever your travels take you, most start at one place… the dreaded airport!

Having just come back from a Real Estate Conference in NYC, the hassles of long lines, security checks and constant episodes of misplacing items are fresh!  With each trip, I try to improve my systems and come up with a more streamlined way to travel.

This time around, the chaos was caused my chords.  Thanks to Apple and their genius idea to change chargers, I now had to add one more to the mix.  Even tied up in a zip-lock bag they still managed to get tangled and waste precious reading time.

Those days may be no more thanks to TYLT‘s latest invention – the band wall charger!  Weighing in at a meter two ounces, the charger comes in a variety of colours and gives users the option of charging not one BUT two devices. (perfect for those who still need both methods of charging).  The sleek silicon ribbon magnetically wraps around the base of the charger keeping things neat and tidy…. as well as stylish!

Prices haven’t been posted yet, but more information can be found directly at TYLT’s website… happy travelling!

grass charger

So you’ve got all the gadgets you asked for over the holidays, now look forward to a full year of trying to keep them charged. Thanks to an iPad, iPhone and camera battery charger it’s no longer just a one cord game… with that comes the always challenging skill of organization!

The Grass Charging Station from Kikkerland is cool little solution to making your cord kingdom a bit more “green”.  The Grass station is a simple design that hides the cords in the base of the pot.  On top is artificial grass to rest your digital devices while they charge up.  There isn’t anything revolutionary or ground breaking about the product, but it is a neat little way to have a more aesthetically appeasing display and storage for your gadgets!

It retails for about $30 online and ships to Canada!  Of course, if you have bigger storage issues… I’d be happy to help you find a larger condo in Toronto!

Coat Rack Clamp
As the old adage goes: We all need that one place where we can hang our hat and relax… problem is, with today’s shrinking condo sizes – that “place” is quickly disappearing! The Clamp Coat Rack is a clever and stylish way to add some extra storage space to a condo lacking a front closet.  Available in solid cherry or Appalachian Hardwoods the C-Clamp measures 8″ high,19″ long and 4″ deep.  They’re custom built  and available on Etsy for roughly $90 Canadian.  It’s industrial look is the perfect match for today’s lofts and practical where space is limited!

We’re well into the 21st century, yet I’d bet a condo that the majority of home owners still have a spare key under a lawn gnome somewhere in the yard… so for this weeks MUST HAVE MONDAY, I mustered up a product that uses some stone age technology to fix this modern day problem!

No matter how clever you think your seceret stash spot may be, I’m certain that nothing come as close as the RocLok. The RocLok is the world’s first and only fake rock key box with the security of a set-your-own combination lock built inside. Constructed of a weather and impact resistant concrete material, RocLok products have the look, feel and weight of natural stone while safeguarding several spare keys in plain sight. Combining the protection of a tumbler style lock box with the concealing benefits of a diversion safe, the RocLok truly offers the safest way to hide a key outside.

They come in several weights, colours and types making it super easy to blend into the garden.  They range in price from $65-$70 (American) and can be shipped up to Canada … oh, and they’re bullet proof! Check out the video below:

wifi cufflinks

For the young professional that wears his “business on a sleeve” … the Brookstone set of polished oval cuff links doubles as a WiFi hotspot and USB flash drive!

According to the website: Hidden in one cufflink is a 2GB USB Flash drive for storing top-secret documents on the go. In the other is a mini router for creating your own WiFi hotspot for laptops, smartphones, tablets and other wireless devices. Just download the accompanying software onto an Internet-connected host computer, then plug the hotspot cufflink into the computer’s USB port.

Of course a convenience and luxury like this does not come cheap.  The cuff links sell for $250 online at Brookstone!

Bookshelf Industrial Pipe

By the time this post see’s the light of day, I’ll be somewhere in the sky between Toronto and NYC…  I’m heading to the Big Apple for a week of sights, sounds and a little creative inspiration!  Whenever I fly, I like to use the time to catch up on a few books in my never ending “must read List”.  For this trip it’s Russell Simmons latest book entitled - Super Rich: A Guide to Having it All… which leads me to this weeks Must Have Monday item!

Let’s face it, as great as our iPads and Kobo’s are, nothing beats the experience of reading a good ol’fashion paperback book.  The problem with these books is that they take up vital storage space in my 50 foot office! But alas, a solution has been found in the form of an iron pipe and a few well placed welded joints.

The Industrial Pipe Bookshelf (pictured above) can easily add some much needed real estate to your space while adding to the cool factor of your room!  The shelf was designed by Stella Blue on Etsy and comes in a variety of shapes and sizes… they even take custom orders.  This one is priced for $146 and can be shipped to Canada. Use the shelf in a hard or soft loft and marvel at your favourite books on display!

The Behringer iNuke

Ho Ho Ho!  If you’re living in a condo and your neighbour get’s the Behringer iNuke for Christmas… expect a New Year with many sleepless nights!

Weighing in at a whopping 700 lbs and spread over 8 feet tall and 4 feet wide the iNuke can pump out over 10,000 watts of power! Sadly, this machine of musical monstrosity won’t be out until 2012…which gives consumers time to save up the $30,000 that will cost to purchase!

If you’d rather put your $30,000 towards a condo of your own, I’d love to help!  Contact me to find a downtown condo of your own!
