It’s been a long time coming, but the condos at 263 Wellington have just been registered.  The intimate 14 story building is nestled right in the entertainment and financial district.  Units are very spacious for downtown standards, offering sizes from 789 to 1058 square feet.

If you’re a unit owner in the building, now would be a perfect time to list and capitalize on the appreciation from buying at pre construction prices.  Buyers, expect a healthy selection of units on the market in the coming months.

Whatever your side, contact me…I’d love to help!

One of the top posts driving traffic to my blog was the piece I did on CREA‘s “How Realtors Help” Commercial.  Unfortunately, all I had on the blog was a pic of “Dave” being rudely awoken by a plane flying over his house.

Due to popular demand I’ve decided to re post the topic with a special treat to my reader’s. I’ve found the second commercial that shows the poor lady trying to figure out ”how to fill in those ridiculously complicated documents”

Disclaimer: I do not encourage this kind of behaviour and would rather see you save your furniture :)  Don’t be like Dave (pictured above).  Use a Realtor (Me)…we can save you time, money, and a lot of broken furniture.  Best of all, our services are free for buyers! AND one more thing, I personally explain every contract for every client!

It’s been one of those weeks…from board meetings to deals, spring is definitely here and things are picking up.  I haven’t had much time this week to post new info, but I’ve learned a heck of a lot.  Next week’s going to be jam pack with fresh content, and if you haven’t already noticed we’ve take on a new look…we like it much more than the old SavelBlogs.com!  yes, that’s me photoshopped onto Bob Dylan.

Check back Monday for some fresh new posts!
Have a great weekend Toronahhhhh

hotdocs

In keeping with the theme of spotlighting local events, I’m dedicating this post to the movie buffs of the city.  From April 30th to May 10th, 09, I encourage you to take to the cinema’s and enjoy this years hotDocs film festival.  hotDocs is in it’s 16th year, and proudly presenting over 150 films.  After checking out their schedule, it’s clear to see there’s something for everyone.

My film ”du jour”  would have to be “The Jazz Baroness“  – the story of  “Nica” Rothschilds support and cultivation of Thelonious Monk!! What makes it even sweeter is it’ll be screened at my favourite place to catch a flick; The Royal Cinema

I also wanted to dedicate a part of my post to an up and coming Toronto film maker:

twitter

Twitter to the Internet world is what Blogging was 5 years ago…New, informative, and in some cases: pointless.  It’s basically a micro version of blogging that allows the account user to write a message to their followers.  You’re followers can be friends, family or even strangers who share a common interest.  You’re limited to a maximum of 140 characters per message which is perfect for all those that believe in the KISS principle (Keep It Simple, Stupid!)

There’s tons of celebrities using twitter which is great if you’d like to know what Shaquille O’Neal had for lunch or where Kim Kardashian is partying on a Friday night.  On a local level it’s useful because users can get updates from friends, news stations and even the Mayor(search David Miller).

I too have an account, and now a voice to the ears of millions of people (or Tweetple as their known online) who may not have heard me before.  I’m constantly posting pictures from around town as well as interesting tidbits of info.  If you’d like to read more of my micro rants and raves, you can find me on my Twitter Page or you can search for me under the user name: SavelSells.

couch

If I had a nickel for every time someone asked me when the real estate market is gonna crash…I’d buy the Nickel Couch.  Created by American artist Johnny Swing, the nickel couch is the second creation in his coin-made furniture collection.

According to his web site, it’s made from approximately 7,000 nickels and held together by 35,000 welds!  After a long day of selling in the city, I don’t how comfortable the couch is…but it definitely gives new meaning  to the phrase “sitting on a pile of money!”

If you’ve found some nickels in your couch and are thinking of investing real estate, give me a call , I’d love to help!!

honested

Entrepreneur, Humanitarian and Theatre Impresario!  Three big words to sum up and even bigger man.

On April 15th 2009 the city of Toronto honoured “Honest” Ed Mirvish by naming a street in the Theatre District after him.  Plaques were also unveiled to salute and honour a man who came to the city with next to nothing and left it with world class theatres. Ed Mirvish passed away July 11th, 2007 and is the only Canadian in history for whom the theatres on Broadway in New York City dimmed their lights on the day of his funeral.

It’s great to see the city give back to man who has given it so much more.  If you’re ever in the theatre district, take a walk on Mirvish Way or better yet catch a preformance in one of his theaters…you won’t regret it “Honestly!”
