Scam

This kind of post should probably appear in my “Make You Laugh Monday” series, but it’s been a loooong week, and I’m sure someone could use a laugh!

Nigerian Prince’s, Daughters of Kings and now British Diplomats have all contacted me via SavelBlogs.com to ask for my assistance. Maybe it’s time to rebrand my marketing efforts…I’m thinking “Your Money Laundering/International Scam Specialist” Usually I just delete this ridiculous emails, but I decided to share this one juuuust in case someone actually falls for one of these scams! Here it is, with a hint of my commentary (in red):

Dear Sir or Mam,

(Really? I have SavelSells.com, SavelBlogs.com, BloorCondos.com, twitter.com/SavelSells, linkedin.com/in/marksavel, flickr.com/photos/savelblogs/, and you still don’t know the “Savel” name? or atleast my gender?)

My name is Ian Paisley, a British diplomat, in Iraq. Having gone through the rigors of diplomatic assignment, as a Read the rest of this entry »

2Gladstonemodel

Streetcar Developments had it’s grand launch this weekend at its appropriately named “2 Gladstone” project! Sales started at 12:00pm sharply, and the crowd couldn’t wait to get in. Shortly before the doors opened, buyers were given their first opportunity to view the floor plans. There was a wide selection of layouts ranging from 527 sqf to 1,064 sqf and a variety outdoor/indoor living space… some units even came with 2 balconies. The staff was very organized and helpful at answering questions…they even gave us drink tickets for the Gladstone Hotel (which, by the way, served some amazing Green Tea) while copies of the contract where being processed!

It was also the first time the public saw an actual model of how the condo will look like (pictured above). In my opinion, it’s really fitting for the area and I can’t wait for the final product. It was also mentioned that Dufferin St. traffic will be diverted to the West of the condo allowing for less traffic down Gladstone Ave.

This is the point of the blog where I insert something like: ”units won’t last long so if you’d like to live here send me an email…i’d love to help!”!” BUUUUT on a second Sunday visit, this is what I saw:

2Gladstone

Hey there 2 Gladstone lovers! I’ve been swamped this past week with tons of calls, questions and emails about details of the project. This got me thinking… there are probably a lot of readers with the same questions who for whatever reason haven’t called. For their convenience, I’m posting a short summary of what I know about the brand new launch this Saturday:

1. Sales will start on Saturday October 3rd at 12:00 sharp!
2. They’ve taken appointments in half hour windows with 10 people booked per appointment.
3. No prices, floor plans or marketing packages will released until then.
4. Only 54 urban spaces will be built!
5. Floor plans will range from 527 – 1064 square feet

I’ve reserved my spot well in advance, if you’d like to join me on Saturday, send me an email…i’d love to help!  I love hearing from my readers, so if you have any questions above and beyond what I posted, do give me a call :)

thehive

The busy bees at BuzzBuzzHome have whipped up another cool feature!  Keeping with the apidae theme (that’s nerd talk for bee) they’ve just launched the “Hive” .  It’s basically a forum for discussing preconstruction projects in the City and is also available in Calgary and Vancouver.  I think this is an amazing idea and a great middle ground for Developer, Consumer and Realtor to meet. It brings the 3 parties together in an informal way to discuss, demystify discover more about a particular project. As more people join in on the conversation, the story of the condo can be better documented from start to finish thanks to this evolution from BuzzBuzzHomes.

To access the Hive, click on your desired preconstruction condo and select “Enter the Hive.”  From there you’ll be able to view prices, unit sizes and even other developments in the area (plus a ton more).  To comment on the project, scroll down to the bottom and buzzzz away!  Here’s my thoughts on Casa Condo, by Cresford.  Being the shutter bug that I am, I naturally love the ability the site has to upload photos!

Once you’ve found that perfect project and are ready to take the next step give me a call…i’d love to help!

cntower

Toronto is home to many things but most notably it’s been the base for “World’s Tallest Free Standing Structure.” At 553 meters it is the tallest and most recognized structure in the city. For 35 years it was also the tallest in the world… that was until the Burj Dubai stepped in (or rather up) and took that title from us!

Earlier this week, Guinness World Records changed the wording so it now reads “World’s Tallest Free Standing Tower.” I never was a fan of “labels” and this case is no different. For me it really doesn’t matter what you want to call it. Truth is, in a few years some other City will build a bigger Tower!

What they can’t take away from us is its significance. It’s a symbol of achievement, greatness and success. The Tower is a lot like a celebrity to the City, but one who never goes to rehab… or worst, moves to the US. Not only is it a treat to look at, but also spectacular to look out of.  It’s rotating floor perched high above the City allows for amazing panorama views. Whenever I’m working out of the City, seeing the Tower on the drive in is like getting a hug from a loved one after a long departure…it’s makes you feel home again.

If you’re ever in the City, I highly recommend going up to the top (it only takes 58 seconds to get there). Better yet, if you’d like a downtown condo with views of the Tower send me an email…i’d love to help!

theonebloor

Finally, the new kid on the block makes their debut! We’ve all heard about the 1Bloor story (click here in case you haven’t) and the roller coaster ride that followed, but that book is done and a new one is about to begin.

This week, the deal between Bazis and Great Gulf Homes was finalized and the new plans are underway for a new project to begin. Not many details are out yet…but I snapped this picture earlier today while taking care of some business in the area. The new project will be called Number One Bloor, and their website is now live. I too have a new blog/site launching this Monday, and without giving away too much info, it has something to do with the above sign.

…it’s going to be a good one so be sure to come back Monday September 21 to check it out!  If you’d like more info on the project, send me an email…i’d love to help!

tub

Looking for an out-of-this-world bath experience? Look no further…the future is here, and boooooy is it cool looking.  The Nirvana Bathtub (pictured above) is the latest creation from Bathroom Design. Do check out the link, they’re like the ‘Bentley’ of bathtub design.  They’re also the latest winners of the 2009 Product Design Award from RedDot awards!

Because of it’s shallow design, the tub uses 60% less water than similar sized units.  An “Accross The Universe” experience is created  by the 360 LED lights positioned around the tub.  The user feels as if they’re floating through the galaxy while relaxing in their home! The Nirvana bathtub features an electronic tap and an automatic water fill/stop function. The temperature is indicated on the rim of the bathtub.  All the technical components are hidden underneath the tub so the design is kept clean and the experience cosmic.   I give this tub 2 Real Estate Thumbs Up!

If you’d like out of this world real estate service send me an email…i’d love to help!
