MUST HAVE MONDAY: Pukul Lima Wood Tables

This weeks Must Have Monday comes to you “Live from the Hive”… that’s an inside joke BuzzBuzzHome co-founder Matthew Slutsky shared while I visited their new office last week! The busy BuzzBuzzHomies have expanded their colony quite a bit since I first wrote about them back in June of 09 and have since moved into a more spacious home in Liberty Village. The new office is absolutely stunning and great fit for the team, but the real show stopper is the matching Pukul Lima Wood Tables the two head huncho’s have in their office. Matthew had this to say about his newest additions:

“BuzzBuzzHome doesn’t just like large tables, we love them. They are one of the cores of our office community.

Groups working around large tables easily lends itself to easy collaboration, and a socialble work environment.

When we moved to our new office, we wanted some new awesome tables; tables that fit our “large-table” community, and also blended well into the brick-and-beam design of the office.

We toyed with the idea of over-sized antique executive desk, raw pine “Brad Pit” dining room tables, and cheap dining room tables. We hunted through furniture stores, and at the last minute we found the RusTeak wearhouse and spotted some Indonesian pukul lima wood tables (aka the Five o’Clock tree, aka the Rain Tree”).

It was love at first site. They are huge. They make for easy collaboration. And, they look insanely awesome!

While our new office is amazing, these two table have been the centre of conversation for all new visitors to the office.”

What Will DNA 3 Look Like?

The Deoxyribonucleic Acid (or DNA) of Canderel Stoneridge latest project, DNA3, is really starting to come together! The developer is no stranger to the King West/Liberty Village area having already built DNA, DNA2 and The Massey Harris Lofts! For DNA3 I particularly like the rectangular highlights placed along the condos facade as shown in the rendering above.

Approximately 600 units will be constructed on the King and Shaw site with suite finishes designed by Cecconi Simone. Other amenity spaces will include an outdoor terrace space, sundeck and misting station, private lounges and dining areas, a state of the art fitness facility and relaxing yoga lounge.

You may remember me talking about DNA3 back in October as the site was also used as the headquarters for LG Fashion Week…since then, the catwalk has been cleared and the curtains closed to make way for a new star. With all the interest surrounding DNA3, I’ll be posting more details as well as preview opportunities in the coming weeks!

Toronto FC 2010 Schedule

The week has just begun, and it’s already looking busier than the line up for beer at a Toronto FC game! I figured, before I get into a week of writing about the glamorous world of real estate, I’d dedicate my Monday post to my beloved Reds!

The Toronto Football club is about to embark on its 4th year in the MLS (and no not the Multiple Listing Service as some readers may think). TFC has yet to make the playoffs but have definitely scored in getting fans on their side. I dabbled in the cult following but never really became hooked until my first live game…I remember it like it was only a year ago (probably because it was).

From the Dufferin bus ride down, to the stomping of the ground in the bleachers…it’s an experience every Torontonian must try! I went to several games last year and had the time of my life every time. – Sidenote to any one from Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment that may be reading this: They won 5 out of 6 games I attended; I very well may be their lucky charm! I started the season as just another fan wearing whatever red and white I could find in my closet, but I ended the season with a scarf, jersey, t-shirt (both of which I won at that game) and I was even lucky enough to catch the ball! The team has gone through a lot of changes during the off season, and so has the stadium! We not only have REAL grass to play on, but also additional seats for the North side of the pitch. The Reds start their season Saturday March 27th in Columbus! Check out the full schedule here.

If you weren’t lucky enough to buy season tickets…you could always buy a liberty village condo as many offer views of the stadium ;) Goooo Reeeeds!

DNA 3 Condos

The second condo in my look at 2010 pre construction launches is Canderel Stoneridges DNA 3. This developer is no stranger to the King West/Liberty Village community having restored the red brick Massey Harris lofts in 2003 and completing DNA1, DNA2 (The predecessors to DNA3).

I wrote about this one back in October, during the LG Fashion Week. It was quite the partnership, merging fashion and real estate for the weeklong event! Judging by the photos, it looked like a “fabulous” success!

Liberty Village is a much sought after address for many young professionals looking to start their life in a hip and happening area. With bars, banks, grocery stores and more all accessible by walk, it’s no surprise why so many are drawn to the neighbourhood. DNA is located on the North side of King St at Shaw. Details are still sparse on DNA 3 but with a rough launch date of Spring 2010 there’s still plenty of time before sales start. Expect an illuminating building design, chic suite finishes from Cecconi Simone, a modern amenity space and a beautiful landscaped rooftop! So much to see in our City, especially when Nuit Blance comes to town. What started off as a rainy cold day, ended as long creative night. Tons of Torontonians, took to the streets to take in the art. From City Hall to Liberty Village and all of Queen St in between…here’s what the night looked like through my eyes!

I haven’t the slightest idea why so many of us advertise our services with “Fluffy” in the background. Never the less it’s a common thing and also today’s subject for “Make You Laugh Mondays”
