In keeping with the ” Bohemian” theme, I thought it would be a fitting to use inspiration from the late Freddy Mercury to describe the situation at the Bohemian Embassy site…
I see a little silhouetto of a CONDO,
Scaramouche, scaramouche will they build the Bohemian Condo?-
Thunderbolt and lightning-very very frightening me-
Galileo,galileo,
Galileo galileo
Galileo figaro-magnifico
They will build the Bohemian cono-oh-oh-OH-OH-ohhhhh
(insert 3:53 minute guitar solo and hair swinging rock out session)
The good folks at BuzzBuzzHome reported that the project has been sold to the Pemberton Group (think U Condominiums and The Uptown Residences) and that the deal has closed. From my last drive-by of the site, it appeared like work had resumed.
The Bohemian Embassy website describes the project as:
Industrial-chic in architectural design and freethinking in spirit, Bohemian Embassy reflects the aesthetic tastes and artistic lifestyle of those attracted to Toronto’s Queen Street West. From the outside in, Bohemian Embassy is the ultimate place for culture-loving urbanites to BE. Among the brick piers, gridded windows, industrial glazing and steel/glass entry tower, a walkway leads directly from Queen West into Bohemian Embassy’s central courtyard – one of two lushly landscaped outdoor retreats. Some 900 feet closer to the stars, step into the stunning Bohemian Sky Lounge
Let’s just hope another one doesn’t bite the dust ;)
