About River City Phase 2
River City Phase 2 is the second of 4 components to Toronto’s newest planned community! It will be made up of 3 glass towers, each 12 storeys tall. There are a variety of changes coming to the area that make River City such an attractive place to live.
For starters, there’s all the infracture that’s being pumped into the area. Most notably The Don River Park – which is currently being transformed from an abandoned post-industrial site into an 18 acre greenscape. Secondly there’s the Underpass Park - the most extensive park to ever be built under an overpass in Canada, and the first in Toronto. The Park will cover approximatily 2.5 acres under and around the Eastern Avenue overpasses. Now that you’re a bit more up to speed with what’s happening AROUND the development, let’s take a closer look at what’s happening IN the development.
River City will be the first residential development going for a Gold LEED Certification in Toronto! LEED ranks building design, construction, and operational practices that provide high quality and high performance advantages to increase occupant health, comfort, productivity while reducing environmental impacts. Oh, and on top of that…they also won the BILD award for Best Building Design in 2010!

There will be approximately 240 lofts and penthouses in the project, each with 9 ft ceiling heights (where applicable). Only nine Loft Houses will be made available at the base of the building. Each of these units will be 2 storeys and located along the Don River and will have their very own “mud rooms”.
All other units will have exposed concrete ceilings and columns along with matte black rolling doors! Floors will be made from environmentally sustainable engineered hardwood floors with ceramic tile in the bathrooms. There will also be optional built-in desks with above-desk internet and electrical outlets (where available).
The kitchens will be open concept with stone countertops and kitchen islands (where available). Sinks will be undermounted and accompanied by a backpainted glass backsplash and custom valence lighting. Your space will included five brand name appliances consisting of a frost free refrigerator, self-cleaning slide0in stove, 18″ or 24″ dishwasher and over-the-range microwave. There will also be an all-in-on condensing washer/dryer!
