I want to take a step back from sales for minute and look at the bigger picture!  With every condo that launches in the core, a new stroke of the Toronto masterpiece gets painted. I’ve always felt like there needs to be a better emphasis on the quality of design that these future projects will one day take the shape of.  I was introduced to the video above by our former Mayor, David Miller via twitter. The video takes  key points from the Tall Buildings Study and is just the “tip of the highrise” for urban planning junkies (like myself).

The Tall Buildings Report was created to define a vision for tall buildings which identifies which downtown streets tall buildings should be located on and the height ranges and built form typologies that these tall buildings should adhere to in order to enhance the pedestrian environment; minimize shadowing of sidewalks, parks and public squares; protect landmark views and heritage resources and improve the quality of life (access to natural light, sky views and privacy) for people living and working in the core.

It’ll be interesting to see how this study changes the shape of the city and if developers are even able to work with the some of the regulations set forth…If you liked the video, you’ll love the report!
