I do a lot of my business in the core of the City, right in the thick of the hustle, bustle and my personal favorite…the traffic. Once the weekend business is over, I prefer to hang out in the quieter parts of downtown…. primarily, The Cadillac Lounge!
It’s an eclectic place in Parkdale just off the busy Queen West Strip (1296 Queen St W). You’ll know you’ve found the Lounge once you see its life sized Cadillac hanging from the wall and the neon pink sign lighting up the street! Guests are greeted by a “Maitre’D” who looks fresh off the set from Grease. The red brick walls are covered in memorabilia from the likes of Johnny Cash, Elivs and Bruce Springsteen to name a few. Once you’ve found a seat, be sure to ask the servers (often resembling a 60′s pin-up girl) for the menu! I go for the live music…but stay for the food (onion rings, a caddy burger and the odd drink …or 3). There’s tons of space outback including a massive outdoor/indoor patio! Inside, the show rocks on with live bands every week.

The crowd at the Cadillac matches the feel of the place. Every week it’s something new. One week a massive white poodle which doubled as a seeing eye dog made its way through the crowd while the next we saw former WWF (or WWE, I don’t know what they prefer) superstars Luke “Bushwacker” and The Honkey Tonk Man. All the elements of the place come together to give a cool down south feel much different that your standard downtown club!
If you’ve ever thought about going down to Cadillac, this Saturday (April 24th) would be a great time to stop by. They’ll be holding their “First Annual Francesco Grosso Type 1 Diabetes Fundraiser”! Starting at 8, it’s going to be a night of great times, awesome music, and incredible raffle prizes! Cover is $20 advance or at the door with all proceeds going to the Diabetes Clinic at Sick Kids Hospital.
So come on out for a roccccccccccccccckin Saturday night…see you at the Caddy!
