Twitter to the Internet world is what Blogging was 5 years ago…New, informative, and in some cases: pointless. It’s basically a micro version of blogging that allows the account user to write a message to their followers. You’re followers can be friends, family or even strangers who share a common interest. You’re limited to a maximum of 140 characters per message which is perfect for all those that believe in the KISS principle (Keep It Simple, Stupid!)

There’s tons of celebrities using twitter which is great if you’d like to know what Shaquille O’Neal had for lunch or where Kim Kardashian is partying on a Friday night. On a local level it’s useful because users can get updates from friends, news stations and even the Mayor(search David Miller).

I too have an account, and now a voice to the ears of millions of people (or Tweetple as their known online) who may not have heard me before. I’m constantly posting pictures from around town as well as interesting tidbits of info.
