Treviso Phase 2

Receive a special cash discount for a limited time on all purchases in phase 1 and 2!  As part of Treviso’s VIP Realtor group I can exclusively offer my clients this promotion PLUS a N’Espresso coffee machine at closing!

After all the success that of Lanterra’s first release of Treviso condos, they’ve followed up with a the second launch…La Piazza (Treviso Phase 2)!

The second tower will complement the first and will be built directly on the Dufferin and Lawrence corner.  The building will rise to a total of 24 storeys and will be made up of over 60 different floorplans.  In total, about 520 units will be available throughout the tower and the podium!

Finishes will be similar to phase one and will include laminate flooring, porcelain or ceramic tiles in most areas!  Munge and Leung have have put kitchen packages that will include granite countertops, ceramic tile backsplash, and stainless steel-front appliances…all standard!

I attended an intimate dinner with the Developers and the Treviso team where they told us more about plans for phase 2.  They spent a lot of time analyzing what worked and what didn’t with phase 1 and used the data to make La Piazza even better!  Phase 2 will feature an indoor swimming pool, 9th floor rooftop area with outdoor hot tub and fire place, bbq’s and dining spaces.  A lot of people I helped get into phase 1 expressed how much they liked the oversized balconies. They developers also picked up on this trend and included the large balconies for podium AND tower suites. The Piazza will link the two phases together and make for a great gathering place for residents!

Here are a few rederings of what Treviso Phase 2 will look like:

Over the weekend I got to experience the Interior Design Show for my very first time!  It was a really good opportunity to see the direction and shapes are places of living will take in the coming years. The challenge I find with buying preconstruction is choosing a finishing package that not only looks good now, but will also be in style 5 years down the road once the building is finally complete! Attending the show only complicated this problem for me as there was soooooo many cool finishes to choose from… and then there was the accessories!  The lamp above is a limited edition Band Boom by Ingo Maurer. Each sheet of parchment paper has a graphic comic character or graphic word on it, allowing you to be even more creative by placing them however you like on the lamp!  The lamp is available from Eurolite in Toronto.

The Studio North and Prototype section was the most enjoyable for me!  Over 60 displays were shown by some of Canada’s best talent.  If you live in standard cookie cutter condo, these pieces may be just what you need to separate your unit from the rest! Here’s a look at a few of my favorite exhibits:

IDS 2011On first look the chair seemed rather uncomfortable and large, but given the storage it provides and the angle is shaped it, it’s actually quite efficient!  And besides, everybody needs a wine chair!

Artist Dean Jackson was on hand to show off his curvy sculptures called the Aero Pod.   Dean is able to customize each pod in to a variety of things including humidors (a much needed accessory for a cigar smoking bachelor!), liquor cabinet, watches, collectibles or jewelry cases. The front features a grill similar to that found on a hot rod! The Aero Pod stands at 3 feet tall and has over 200 hours of work spent on each!

IDS 2011I have no clue what these are or how one would incorporate it into the home, but they did reminded me of twizzlers!

IDS 2011This looked like something right out of a Tim Burton movie and can definitely work in a variety of spaces!

IDS 2011This piece answers the question: How do you hide a 40″ LCD TV inside a 6″ deep space?

Answer – YouTube Preview Image

IDS 2011I haven’t the slightest clue who would want to wipe their rear with multicoloured paper…but I do know this booth was paaacked!  The company sells toilet paper and paper towels in a variety of bright colours!

IDS 2011The legs on the coffee table are supposed to be changed with the months…it’s the gift that keeps on giving!

IDS 2011Part of the Prototype Collection, the Tired Chair (as we called it) was very resourceful.  Made out of old tires and wood, a lot of people gravitated to it.  I wanted to take it for a test drive but that little white sign in the left hand corner prevented that from happening!

IDS 2011Every downtown condo needs its signature piece of art…and for some, this may be exactly it!  A closer look shows that the picture has and overlay of smaller photos covering the background!

IDS 2011The glass work below the painting makes for a some great accent pieces!

IDS 2011I found this to be simple, yet effective.  Combines your love of cooking with your love of art and add a little flare to the kitchen…who’s kidding who, throw a skyline on anything and I’d have something positive to say!

IDS 2011Here is something I’d definitely love to see more of!  Available from Aquabrass, they take a variety of faucet styles and offer them and various colours.  The matte black really works well, but pairing a blue faucet and drain can equally work well!

IDS 2011Another feature from Aquabrass was their crystal customization…nothing says “ballin” like a gold coloured faucet with crystals!

Below are several collections that inspired me on various levels…and I hope do the same for you!

Here are a few photos from inside the unit:

You haven’t truly sold Real Estate until you’ve sold a co-op!

Co-op’s are a form of ownership wildly popular in New York yet not that common in Toronto. They’re typically cheaper to purchase when compared to a condo unit. The price of co-op units makes them ideal for a first time purchasers. The term “co-op” is commonly associated with government supported housing, yet many have no relation and are run entirely by the residents and property manager.

The unique location of my listing is on the border of two sought after communities. The building is located on 1648 Bathurst and has Forest Hill to the East and Cedarville to the West! The shops and restaurants of”Upper Village” are minutes away on Eglinton. Loblaw’s and the St. Clair subway station can be found to the South.

The building has a ton of character with a welcoming Tudor style exterior. Typical units in the area are reflective of its time and are rarely updated. I helped my client purchase in the co-op a while back and was amazed when I saw how she transformed the place! Here is what it looked like before the renovations:

From your first visit, you’ll notice that this isn’t you’re typical co-op! The owner has extensively updated the look and feel of her place while still respecting the character and charm originally built into the unit. The walls have been recently painted to give the area a warm feel. The kitchen went through a massive overhaul with the old finishes removed and a much more modern style applied.  The dull white cabinets, the laminate countertops and the basic appliances have been replaced with granite counterops, mahogany coloured cabinets, glass blacksplash and stainless steel appliances.  And now, the after photos:

The living area which was once painted in 2 clashing hues of yellow has been transformed with a floral wallpaper and warm coloured complimentary wall!  My client has preserved the character of the imitation fireplace by giving it a fresh coat of paint.  I particularly love the inlay around the base of the fireplace…that level of work is rarely seen these days.  Oh, and did I mention the hardwood???  Yes I said hardwood NOT laminate!  Try finding that in a newly built condo!

Laundry is available in the lower level of the building and there is a parking space available for rent!  The unit is placed on the main level, at the rear of the building which allows for quite conversations without the noise of traffic.  The maintenance fees include property taxes, hydro, water and heat.

You can learn even more about the listing on my SavelSells website or feel free to contact me for a private showing!

If you’re following me on twitter, (@savelsells for those who aren’t) you’ve probably seen me tweeting with the hashtag #CruzeCity or #TeamGlobal during the past few weeks. The tweets were  all part of a cross country Chevrolet City Challenge against other urbanites from Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal!

Me and fellow blogger/fashonista/illegal left turner (kidding), Justine from WhateverEurotrash.com, participated in the challenge and spent the day repping Team Global to the fullest!  Armed with the new Chevy Cruze, an IPad and our downtown navigating skills, we took to the streets to complete a series of tasks in 3 hours (sorta).

The morning started off early as we met at the Exhibition to square up our competitors (Team Style and Team Safety) and pick our car.  We got off to an amazing start completing tasks off of the list and taking names!  Justine and her trusty red lipstick got us our first set of points by helping us find a coffee cup with lipsticks on the rim!  My phenomenal hockey/google skills led us to our second group of points by correcting identifying 6 hockey players on Canada’s Walk Of Fame.

Then things got tough as we had to snap a photo of a Owl statue …not the easiest thing to do!  I steered us wrong by going to the public library at College and Spadina, only to find Gryphon’s instead of owls.  Justine and her blackberry saved us once again by finding an owl at another library in the Beaches.  Our peppy little Cruze definitely delivered in getting us to the east side of town in record time! I took a short break in between appointments to enjoy Toronto’s newest beach, appropriately named “Sugar Beach”. Located at the foot of Lower Jarvis Street adjacent to the Redpath Sugar Factory, this beautiful public space was once a parking lot in a former industrial area!

Escape the hustle and bustle of downtown and relax at the beach for a bit…you’ll be glad you did!

*minor correction* I say “Cherry Beach” in the last 10 seconds, but meant “Sugar Beach”… blame it on the sun!
