It’s not often that I promote leases on my blog, so when I do, you know it’s going to be a good one!
This spacious suite is located at 380 Macpherson and also goes by the name Madison Lofts. It’s 1 bedroom plus den loft that comes in at about 785 sq.ft. and features two separate marble bathrooms! It feels much larger with it’s 12 foot ceiling heights and long layout. From the walkout balcony you can take in the Cities beautiful sunsets as the views are clear to the west… and of course there’s the gorgeous views of Casa Loma from the couch! Not bad for a converted hydro building!
On the main level of the building there’s round the clock security at the front desk. In the same area you’ll also find a well equipped gym and a party room. Up-top is the rooftop terrace that features sun bathing chairs and gas BBQ’s and in the basement there’s ample guest parking. For the commuters, Dupont Station is literary at the end of the street!
I’m listing the unit for $1950 a month and we’re looking for a minimum of a 1 year lease. If you or someone you know is looking, feel free to send them my way!

Over the Christmas break I developed a bit of a vice to… well,Vice.com! For those unfamiliar with the name, Vice started out as a Canadian magazine from Montreal back in 94. Today they’re based out of New York City and have over 900,000 readers across 22 different countries (not bad for a bunch of Canadian eh?)
Along with the magazine, they also have a pretty sweet website which boasts some pretty interesting videos. In fact I first got hooked on to them was while watching a doc they did about life inside North Korea. It was an amazing look inside the virtually unknown country and a very insightful watch!
I then dug deeper into the website and came across a video about the Motor City aka Detroit!
Even though I’ve never been, the stories of homes selling for less than the price of the cars that were once manufactured there, are all too familiar. Every news clip I’ve seen in the last 10 years was showing the bad in the City. Naturally I was intrigued to see Vice hook up with Johnny Knoxville as he spends some time with the people working on bringing Detroit back to life. Without saying too much more… I present to you “Detroit Lives”
There was an old woman that lived in a Shoe,
She’s also made an appearance in the latest CREA commercial, or two.
Long live the ad agency that created the Canadian Real Estate Association latest commercial! The 30 second spot is a spoof of the popular Mother Goose rhyme - The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe.
I’ve had a tooooooon of requests to post the video, so with no further delay I present to you the full, one minute and thirty second documentary of the The Old Woman That Lived in a Shoe…2011 style!
If you’re like me, chances are you have more remotes in your living room than you do devices! You’ve got a TV remote, a Rogers box remote, and PlayStation remote, a DVD remote…and the list goes on.
Worry no more iPhone friends, a solution is here!
The VooMote Zapper is the only device you’ll ever need. The small device attaches with ease to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch no different than a standard Apple charger. The remote can be synced up to a pretty much any entertainment device you’d find in a home. Imagine being able to turn all of your devices from ONE control. With the VooMote Zapper you can!
The add-on should retail for about $70 and works with a free download from the app store. Once installed, the user can put in their postal code and get information on local programming/show times right from their Apple device. No need for TV guides ever again!

Just the other day, I was having a discussion with a client about the lack of live theatre in the City! Sure, we have our Dancap’s and Mirvish’s, but the smaller indie productions are few and far in between in my opinion.
Sure enough, in a serendipitous series of events…I recieved an email from the blog about a new play about first -time buyers, and the trouble they get into! The play is called Third Floor and takes place in a brand new condo, where two neighbours become friends. But when a prank goes wrong, friends become accomplices. A Hitchcockian twist on contemporary living that asks: how well do you know your neighbours?
The play will take place at the Lower Ossington Theatre, (100A Ossington Avenue) on the following dates:
Friday August 5th 7:00 PM
Saturday August 6th 4:30 PM
Tuesday August 9th 4:30 PM
Thursday August 11th 7:00 PM
Saturday August 13th 7:00 PM
Sunday August 14th 2:00 PM
Check out the trailer below…and if you’re looking for some delishous after theatre eats, try The Golden Turtle Restaurant (125 Ossington (at Argyle). 416-531-1601) best Pho around!
So I’ve just listed a great new unit at the Vu Condos in downtown Toronto… What’s so “great about it” you ask? Well for starters, is a located way up in the tower (23rd floor) and is a floorplan that doesn’t come available too often! You get tons of natural light shining in from the floor to cieling windows, and a perfect view of the sun rising in the morning. In the evening you can watch it set over the City to the north. Depending on where you stand in the unit, you can actually see in three different directions: The lake to the south, the West Don Lands to the East and the cluster of buildings that make up our skyline to the North!
This particular unit come updated with an island in the kitchen and stainless steel appliances! The owners also elected to replace the standard bathtub with floor to ceiling glass show stall. To maximize space in the bedroom, they closed off a door connecting the master to the bathroom. In total, the unit is about 745 square feet…and for those looking for a bit more room the condo also comes with TWO parking spots and TWO lockers! Check out a video below:
If you’d like a private tour of this unit, contact me for an appointment! For more info on this unit, click here!
I was chatting with someone from Vancouver the other day, and they noted how few balconies in the City have plants or small gardens growing on them… take a drive around Toronto, it’s true!
The Hot Pot BBQ may be exactly what we need to keep up with our West end neighbours. Created by London design firm Black + Blum, the Hot Pot looks like a regular terracotta planter, but actually doubles as a BBQ below! With a cooking area of a little less than a foot, users can sizzle some steaks in the summer time…with seasoning from the herbs above. Check out the video below to see the pot in action!
The Hot Pot ships to Canada and can be or ordered from the companies website here.
If you’d like to find a terrace big enough to fit you and a few friends, contact me… I’d love to help!
