Looks like the condos are moving farther West. Mimico and Long Branch are going to be the place to buy. I think it's a safe bet to buy now and hold. Single family homes are a great value is Long Branch and Mimico. You are close to the lake, Humber College, Street Cars. After a few more condos get built the restaurant scence will improve...already a few great places....

Hey Aubrey,

Thanks for your feedback on the developer! In regards to your comments on insulation/draft issues, water/rain damage which development were you referring to?

I think reports like those offered by J.D. Power are great because it gives the public a 3rd party perspective on the product. One thing that should be noted is that the report is from 2007, and builders just like consumers also read its findings. When a poor performance like what was graded in 07 occurs, builders work with their team to improve future results. I've had both good and bad experiences with camrost felcorp and although they're not perfect yet, they have acknowledged past faults and working on improving them.

Another tool that can be used to asses a developer is the Tarion Website. Check out http://www.tarion.com/services/builder_detail.aspx?bcid=1462 for stats on Camrost Felcorp. According to Tarion they have improved, and had no claims since 2004.

Thanks again for checking out my blog and feel free to contact me directly if you'd like to discuss further!

If you're thinking about purchasing a condo, check out the developer and what they have built. Sure, they might have great floor plans and pricing, but this developer has had one of the worst customer satisfaction records according to JD Power (see http://www.urbantoronto.ca/archive/index.php/t-5030.html). Camrost has the dubious reputation of screwing their customers. Their developments have had insulation/draft issues, water/rain damage, etc. Buyer beware!
