About 8 Gladstone
8 Gladstone will be the second project for Streetcar in the Queen West neighbourhood! What I most like about the area is that it doesn’t have very much condo inventory. There are a few projects nearing completion (including 2 Gladstone, directly South of 8 Gladstone) and once complete Queen West will thrive even more!
The development will be located on Gladstone Ave, across from the historic Gladstone Hotel. There will be very few amenities in the building, basically a gym, lobby and pet spa (room to wash down your dog). In intimate projects like this, it’s better to have less amenities as unit owners would have a larger share of monthly expenses to pay for in comparison to a larger residential tower…. Besides, if you live here you’re right smack in the middle of Queen West and Parkdale! Residents will be able to walk to restaurants , art galleries, shops, a great night life and more! Suite Finishes at 8 Gladstone
Sitting a top of 8 Gladstone will be two levels of Penthouse lofts! These lofts will have 10 ft. ceilings on the main level with 9 ft. heights on the second. They’ll all have huge terraces with natural gas hookups…Queen West BBQ time!! The penthouses range in size from 705 square feet (two bedroom) to over 1,200 square feet. My favorite of these layouts is the north east unit… it features a terrace with almost as much space outside as there is inside!
Love your laminate flooring? Well too bad if you said yes because all units (even the ones from the 2nd-6th floor) will have large porcelain tiles as a standard finish. I haven’t come across many (well actually any) that feature porcelain throughout! The kitchens will be have quartz in 3 places: the counter top, back-splash and bookending the kitchen. The fridge will be built in and “hidden” with paneling to match the rest of the kitchen.
Ladies (or guys who have a lot of hair care products) are going to love the 5 ft long vanity coutnertops in the bathroom! Available in select layouts, the bathrooms are split up with vanites on one side and toilets on the other… I saw this trend in some of the different places I stayed in during my last trip to Italy, not really popular in Toronto…yet!
There’s no hiding the fact that train tracks run right behind 8 Gladstone. Streetcar has built its name (and reputation) on building projects on the often noisy streetcar tracks, so they’re no stranger to these kinds of conditions.
